Today marked the “mortgage burning” of the Spokane Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church. What a milestone representing the completion of a huge project that has endured for well over a decade. With the leadership of several different pastors the congregation remained focused on the dream of a new facility. The last phase has been perhaps the most difficult in maintaining enthusiasm and commitment to the retiring of the debt. That process was speeded up with a planned gift which was received from Al and Edna Weymouth.
This wonderful couple blessed the Valley Church for decades through their faithful financial support and generous donations of their time and energy for the Lord’s work. They continue that legacy of generosity by making provision in their estate plan to benefit the Valley Church. That distribution, along with many other donations large and small, made the mortgage burning possible.
The Upper Columbia Conference Trust Department is happy to help church members write appropriate estate documents to benefit their families and charitable work. It is important that our stewardship responsibilities be completed appropriately by making provision in our estate planning for the support of the Lord’s work.
